Fall Golf Classic

The Club at Olde StoneThe 2008 Fall Golf Classic will take place Monday, October 27, 2008 at The Club at Olde Stone in Alvaton, Kentucky. The tee-off party will be Sunday, October 26, 2008.

The Fall Golf Classic is a golf scramble benefiting clinical trials research at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. The scramble takes place at beautiful Olde Stone. The Course at Olde Stone was designed by internationally acclaimed golf architect Arthur Hills, who was given free reign to create a masterpiece on terrain. Bent grass fairways and greens are dotted with dazzling white sand bunkers. Trees, not houses, line the fairways of this core course and the strategically placed tee boxes ensure a challenging game. Olde Stone is the site of the 2008 Junior Ryder Cup.

The Fall Golf Classic became a reality when Dr. Kela Lyons Fee gathered the community leaders of Bowling Green, Kentucky to raise money for the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. Dr. Fee earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UofL. In October of 2004, Dr. Fee was diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer and spent the next several months undergoing extensive chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Dr. Fee has not only touched the lives of her patients and families, but numerous people in the Bowling Green area.

Individual golfers cost $250 for the scramble. Sponsorship opportunities range from $500 - $10,000. For information on how you can become involved, please contact Beth Hobson at (502) 562-4651 or beth.hobson@louisville.edu.
